Photo Contest Rules:

Open to all photographers 13 years and older

All photos must be original work taken by the entrants.
No third-party may own or control any materials the image contains, and the photo must not infringe upon the trademark, copyright, moral rights, intellectual rights, or rights of privacy of any entity or person.

  • Photos must be taken during the Edmonton Dragon Festival from June 7- July 7, 2024, 11:59 PM MST

  • The photo must be submitted in its original state without digital editing beyond cropping, adjustment to exposure, sharpness or minor colour corrections.

  • Photo must be taken at 1 of the 3 Edmonton Dragon Festival events or infront of a dragon mural, plaque or sculpture in The Chinese Garden, South Chinatown or North Chinatown

Dragon Festival Entries must be received no later than July 7, 2024, 11:59 PM MST

By entering the contest, entrants agree that the Chinatown Transformation Collaborative can use photos submitted. Chinatown Transformation Society reserves the right to use the photographs, with credit, on our website, in an exhibition, uploaded on the Story City App, and finalists may be published in the local newspapers. Images remain the copyright of the photographer.

This vibrant display of culture and artistry marks the opening of the Edmonton Chinatown Dragon Festival, celebrating the rich heritage and spirited community of Edmonton's Chinatown. Witness the powerful rhythms and dynamic movements that bring mythical creatures to life in a spectacle of colour and sound!

Experience a day filled with wonder at the Chinese Garden in Louise McKinney Riverfront Park, where dragons take over the land, sky, and water. "Dragons Everywhere" invites you to a magical setting where mythical dragons soar through the skies and dance on the waves, creating a fantastical realm for all ages. Enjoy interactive displays, arts and crafts, and storytelling sessions that will transport you into the world of dragons in every corner!

Due To High Demand:

Dr. Larry Louie and Larry Wong will conduct a free workshop now on Saturday, June 8th, at CTC Storytelling Centre @ The Hull Block in North Chinatown (10601 97 Street North West) as part of the Edmonton Dragon Festival's "Dragons in the Park" event.

This casual and intimate workshop includes a one-hour presentation by Larry & Larry from 3:00 - 4:30 PM.

Following the presentation, both Larrys will be on-site at Dragons in the Park on Sunday, June 9th, to answer any questions.
